There's Nothing Too Dirty

So I think everyone has their "thing."
Something that stirs in your soul and you just know you want to be a part of.

To do something more.
To make a difference, even if it may seem like it's in a small way.

My friend (an awesome stylist who has been making my hair look so good for so many years) has found hers.
And I want to share with you all because I am hoping you will help her on her journey.

From Danielle:

My heart has been stirring to get involved with helping in Human Trafficking. It is a hard, scary, and heart breaking place to get involved in but I am committed to being involved and going where the Spirit is leading me. I have been praying and searching for where I can help and this is where I am starting. A few months ago I heard about The Samaritan Women House in Baltimore. They house women they have rescued and help them to rebuild for their future. This is going to be my first step in getting involved with the help of a few other women and young ladies I am asking and praying for anyone and everyone who would want to help to please contact me...

...My first step in helping them is to collect donations for them. Whether it be gift cards, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, as well as office needs, and more. There is no funding or grants to help them with helping them house, educate and council these ladies to help them get back on their feet and start a new life. I continue to ask for donations to take up to them...

Second, I would love to get a group together to do some hands on work at the house. To get more familiar with what all they do and hopefully get to know some of the women. The house is on 23 acres and again they rely on volunteers maintaining the place. Some of the projects would be anything from weeding, cleaning, window washing, painting, scrapping windows, weather proofing windows and doors, building small projects and much more. I have a list of things that need to be done and projects they wish to have done. My hope is to schedule a day in June or July for this to happen. If anyone is interested in helping please let me know. As always continued Prayer on this journey is asked. Thank you for all who have already supported me with this cause.

I simply googled human trafficking in the United States and here are just a few facts I came across:

According to the U.S. State Department, 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children.

The average age a teen enters the sex trade in the U.S. is 12 to 14-year-old. Many victims are runaway girls who were sexually abused as children.

Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. Of that number, $15.5 billion is made in industrialized countries.

The International Labour Organization estimates that women and girls represent the largest share of forced labor victims with 11.4 million trafficked victims (55%) compared to 9.5 million (45%) men.

The National Human Trafficking Resource Center, 2015 showed that there were 90 human trafficking cased reported in Maryland.

That's 90 too many!

This is a HUGE thing.
And it won't be fixed overnight.

But in Maryland, there are people who are coming together to make a difference!

We ARE BETTER TOGETHER and there are tangible ways we can help!!!

My friend, Danielle, is stepping out and partnering with The Samaritan Women and I ask that you please consider helping any way you can!  Below is more info...

Here is a more updated list of needs:

And last, I want to leave you with the words from Natalie Grant's, CLEAN - I think this is our hearts desire, for these women to feel safe, loved, and clean once again!

I see shattered
You see whole
I see broken
But You see beautiful
And You're helping me to believe
You're restoring me piece by piece

There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.

What was dead now lives again
My heart's beating, beating inside my chest
Oh I'm coming alive with joy and destiny
Cause You're restoring me piece by piece

There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.

Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
My dirty rags are purified
I am clean

There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
There's nothing too dirty that You can't make worthy
You wash me in mercy
I am clean.
